Subject: LotusScript Advice - Canonical Names
Feedback Type: Question
Product Area: Domino Designer on Eclipse (DDE)
Technical Area: Application Development
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Always

I want to enable type-ahead on one of my fields - looking for names from the Domino Directory. However, the result it returns is in full Canonical form, and I only want to return the First and Last Name because I need to compare it to an instance of this in another database for validation.

Is there any way to convert the canonical to this? I don't really want to get into splitting the string, because it seems a bit heavy handed. I have been considering the NotesName object and trying to convert it using the Common method but I'm not sure how I'd go about doing so.

Does anyone have any tips on this? Any help MUCH appreciated!
